  La foto del cactus que está arriba la usé para el MINI MUNDO abajo que quería jugar un poquito con la idea de mini mundo pero hacer otra cosa.  Tiene sensación de mandala.

Aquí tenemos a Fran

con una iluminación de 3/4, se ve un poquito del otro lado de la cara, pero más que nada un poquito de su ojo. 

 Laura está mostrándonos cómo funciona la contra luz con caja/luz suave.  

 Aquí Laura está mostrándonos la luz lateral (sin relleno) y la luz dura.  Abajo hay más ejemplos de luz lateral, y dura, pero mirando hacía la luz.

It's official: break is over. We are now in the 2nd Trimester, and rolling.

Are we ready to rumble? 

We have already completed day 1. 

The 2nd TRIMESTER has began and we have only heard that it's going to be more intense. This is good. I still have hair left over from last term and I have recuperated from any stress related illnesses over the winter break, so I´m ready. 

We've been told so far that our plan in this class for this next trimester is to have a lot of studio work in our artistic photo class. That should be fun. 

Here's the layout:

Iluminación I - Estudio 9 exercises - 1 light
Iluminación II - Estilos de ilumincación 2-3 lights
Iluminación III - Esquemas dados - something about some books in pdf of color and black and white
Iluminación IV - Imitación de autor - Imitar una foto o un estilo

We´ll work in a group of 2-3 people for the trimester. 

In the theory part of class we´ll look at masters of portraits and study lighting in historic works and also look at over 100 photographers (which will have to be memorized for the exam).  

We´ll also look at escanografía, sombra, abstracto y reportaje. 

And on the side we´ll need to do 4 reviews on related books, 5 reviews from a list of movies we´ll be given and also 8 reviews of various exhbibitions from a list of galleries.

And mom says let's fill this basket up with lots of oranges and wine -just what gramma needs when she's feeling a bit sick or has the blues.


And little Miss Red Riding Hood says, "Here, Mama! I found another orange in the drawer that I could bring her."

There were so many oranges that they were falling all over the place and as much as Little Red tried put them in the basket they fell everywhere...


Her mother secretly took some out because the basket was already big enough that she felt it would be hard for her to carry it to her gramma.

And then she had a mission.... a basket of vitamins that had to get to grandma's house.

She had a dandy time making her way to her gramma's house, just cruising along the streets.


A few weirdos tried to distract her from her mission along the way, but she got out of any possible problems. Her red cape gave her super powers, something she had always known - and it had always kept her safe.

And then she brought the basket to her gramma's bedside, because the poor old lady was sick and bedridden and had been unable to answer the door.

She sat the basket down on the floor to greet her gramma and when she looked up at her, she thought she looked quite strange, but she forced a smile.


She realized she should just give her grandma the basket of goodies so she could get better, even if her grandma looked a bit odd - almost as if it weren't her grandma... something was off.

Fight of flight - She had a strange feeling and since she had read the story about Little Red Riding Hood, written by the Bros. Grimm, she got scared and ran out the door to the street. She dropped the basket so she could run faster and faster to get home (of course after having left the oranges and wine just in case).

She was quite scared and she tried to hide herself, but she knew from the story that a red cape was not a good way to hide one's self. She felt invisible but everyone could see her...

Something stopped her in her tracks. She realized that perhaps she had precipitated the situation and it wasn't a big bad wolf or any other thing about to eat her up (or eat her grandma). Perhaps she had heard too many bad stories and she just had an innate fear that she couldn't shake, after having been so socialized by such stories. What she liked about the original story was that the real Red Riding Hood and Grandma ended up being pulled out alive of the wolf's stomach and then played a game on the next wolf that tried to fool them or take advantage of them. Little Red and Grandma were super smarty pants in the story.

As she thought about all this, she realized she had left her Grandma back there, in her bed with a mound of oranges on her bed and a bottle of wine lying there, already uncorked. Her poor grandma, probably quite confused, trying to understand the sudden fear that ran through little Red; perhaps didn't know how to react. Both of them at these points in life when they don't have a cell phone to contact one another and explain what just separated them, innate programmed fears that have just not be digested properly creating an uncomfortable and unfortunate experience.

CROMATISMO CREATIVO - tutorial de photoshop incluido

Aquí voy a explicar en la manera más fácil para todo, especialmente a mí misma, cómo jugar con el cromatismo creativo.

Como siempre, lo básico sería: "abre una imagen en Photoshop" - Ya vamos bien...a veces para mí este paso cuesta mucho.

Tengo dos fotos - primero voy a mostrar una esquina o rincón en mi pueblo que tiene su propio valle:

Aquí está abierto en Photoshop.

Después de creer dos capas, nombrando las capas 1 y 2 - vas abajo - por donde se ve tus capas y pulse el cuarto símbolo desde izquierda a derecha. Parece como si fuera un símbolo de ying y yang, un círculo dividido en dos, blanco y negro. Allí encontrarás el mapa degradado o en mi caso sería el Gradient Map. Tocando el mapa gradiente se abre otra pestaña donde puedes elegir otros colores y cambiar su intensidad. Después el truco es jugar con una cosa u otra hasta que sale la mezcla de colores que te guste.

Llegué a este paladar de colores y volqué horizontalmente porque falta mucho el imagen y después copia y la repetí al otro lado para que parecería un tipo de patio círcular.

No olvides de acoplar tu imagen y guardarla en .psd y .jpg

Okay, vamos a mirar a la otra foto...que es de un pescado de algún mercado en el mundo.

Aquí es la foto y noté que en el gradiente podía elegír blanco y nego. No sé como compare con nuestras otras opciones de BYN, pero no parecía mal al primera vista.

En estas capturas de pantallas puedes ver como uno puede jugar con el Editor de Gradientes, te deja elegir los colores y ya hay algunos prehechos....y play mucho más.

Esta es mi última edición, que no muestra mucha "creatividad" con los colores en el sentido que no hay muchos colores, pero jugando así llegué a esto y parece solarizado y así me gusta. Y punto.

Ahora mismo no tengo photoshop entonces ahora estoy usando GIMP y iPhoto para los proyectos. Creo que han funcionado, aunque no es photoshop. Hice la práctica con una foto oficial de mi. Hice algunos otros retratos de gente que conozco pero como salieron me da miedo y es algo que prefiero no compartir con el mundo. Es un ejercicio que me va a dar pesadillas visuales.

  Los últimos tres son de una foto de una niña de una amiga. La foto saqué hace 6 años con un camera de video digital que tiene menos megas que tu movil tenía hace 5 años. :)

Tenía ganas de alubias, blancas, o también se conocen como los chicharos (si has visto una entrada antes de alubias, has visto el enlace a los chicharos. Si no, está en wikipedia.

Bueno, en lugar de comer las alubias decidí fotografíarlas y así vemos bien el DOF, la profundidad del campo de alubias.

Este es similar pero con un tono de color más frío. Me gustán las dos opciones, ¿y tú?

Aquí movemos nuestro plano de enfoqueo hacía atrás, pero quedamos con un plano de enfoque bastante estrecho (mínimo), como antes.

Aquí en esta foto abajo, ponemos un plano de enfoque más ancho, incluyendo a casi todas las alubias.

Después de esto, con otras ideas en la mente me vinieron estas alubias:

Abajo: Muy poca profundidad de campo F/4.5 EX:1/200 ISO 200

Y finalmente, abajo, tenemos una profundidad de campo más ancho, casi entero, así se ve todo.

Lo probé (con mi model en casa) y no han salido tan chulas como las de ella, pero voy a seguir intentando. De cualquier forma sale como una experiencia divertida.
